With the release of Olympus’ new digital camera, the PEN Series E-PL2, many people are wondering if the new camera is worth the additional cost. Many photographers think so. Olympus E-PL2 Review dot Com summarized several of the opinions found in photography forms to help you compare the new features of the E-PL2 to help you decide which digital camera is best for you.

Some of the differences noted by those who agree that the cost difference is justified include:
- Faster fastest Shutter speed (1/4000 vs 1/2000)
- Quieter Autofocus Lens
- Faster Lens focusing
- Return of the wired shutter release (some photogs like this better)
- Bluetooth upload option to transfer smaller res copies of your pics to your phone, PC or other enabled device
- An additional art filter (dramatic tone)
- Dial control as opposed to button control
- Slightly thicker grip, which may be better for larger hands
- Faster flash sync speed
Note that to really take advantage of the fast shutter speed (1/4000), you’ll need a fast lens in order to notice. However, the ISO setting of 100 was also removed in the E-PL2 model, so functionally, it may not make a difference. Some reviewers found the camera body of the E-PL1 was actually easier to hold and grip without the thumb hitting the dial on the back of the E-PL2.
At a price difference of $117 dollars currently between the two models, you’ll have to look at the list of features provided by the Olympus E-PL2 Digital Camera and see if they’ll bring new enthusiasm to your photography efforts. But if you’re on the fence, you can always go for the RED model of the new E-PL2 which is typically on sale for less than the other colors

Some of my friends like the Dramatic Tone Filter and it appears that you can combine two Art Filters? Also I’ve seen retro looking borders on the images.
